Guelph's happy hour scene is spread across two main zones: the downtown core along Wyndham, Macdonell, and Baker streets, and the near-campus strip on Stone Road and Edinburgh Road. Knowing which spots run which deals — and at exactly what time — is the difference between a $6 pint and an $8 pint. Over the course of a night out, that adds up.
This guide covers every current happy hour in Guelph we've verified, organized by location and time. Always confirm details by calling ahead — happy hours change seasonally.

Most Guelph restaurants run happy hour between 3 pm and 6 pm on weekdays, with some extending to 7 pm. A few spots run extended or all-day Monday deals. Here's a rough guide:
Important: Happy hour times shift seasonally, especially on patios in summer. Always confirm the current times by calling ahead or checking the restaurant's social media — many Guelph spots post their weekly specials on Instagram.
Stack happy hour with other deals. Montana's $4.99 drinks happy hour lines up perfectly with their Wednesday Rib Night. State & Main's happy hour drinks pair with their half-price wings. When you can combine two deals, you get a full meal and drinks for well under $25.
Go near campus if you don't want the commute. Montana's and Fionn MacCool's are both a 10–15 minute walk from U of G. You don't need to take the 99 to get a proper happy hour. The Shakespeare Arms is even closer — about 5 minutes from the Stone Road entrance.
Downtown is worth the bus on Fridays. The downtown happy hour scene on Fridays is genuinely good. Baker Street Station's rooftop patio in summer, Brothers Brewing's craft beer happy hour, and Royal Electric's cocktail specials make for a proper Friday afternoon. Take the 99 down and you don't have to worry about parking.
Arrive early. Happy hours fill up fast, especially at the smaller downtown spots. Baker Street Station in particular can get crowded on Friday afternoons — arrive by 4:30 pm to be safe.
Some Guelph happy hours are drink-only (cheaper pints, house wine specials), while others include food apps. Montana's $10 apps are genuinely filling — their spinach dip is big enough to share as a starter. Kelsey's half-price spinach dip on Wednesdays is the same idea.
Brothers Brewing focuses on drink deals (they're a brewery, after all), while Baker Street Station tends to have both food and drink specials running simultaneously. Royal Electric is primarily a cocktail deal — their food specials vary by week.
